Bar Cart Makeover PT.1

I am semi new to the bar cart world, as we only added one to our home just before Christmas. I decorated it very festively for the holidays, see HERE. However, afterwards, it became a stockpile and dumping ground for all drinkware, bottles, and accessories that I couldn't find a home for, in our kitchen. We have a pretty small kitchen... Anyway, I figured I would finally get myself together and organize and style the lucite and gold brush metallic bar cart that sits in our "tropiclectic" living room. Here is the inspiration and my ideas...the final will be revealed soon after I pick up a few things to complete my vision. I picture this as a space in our home, rather than a thing to decorate. I'm thinking lots of mix and match greenery shelved above, possibly a vertical stack of books beside (extra ones that are lying around the apartment- if I have enough!), and either bird, leaf or fish paintings in the backdrop, maybe even a naked lady or two - we'll see! In the mean time, check out the before and my mood boards for the space, below.

Stay tuned for the final reveal and makeover later this week!

Miami Living

Leaving Manhattan was tough for a girl who loves NYC, but the first perk of moving to Miami has been the new apartment with lots of room to decorate. I used to live in a little shoe box, really though. The square footage has gone up and I am one happy lady! Plenty of room and sunshine for plants and more plants. I am about half way there. The living room and balcony have been first on the agenda. I am having a lot of fun shopping, often at Homegoods or Joss and Main. There are a few things left for me to decorate in the living room. I need some additional art pieces and a bar cart. I am hoping to have some luck at the flea market on Lincoln Road in the coming weeks. Until then, I am going to continue with some online shopping on furniture.com, from the comfort of my new, bright, and tropic apartment. Any other recommendations on where to look and discover a one of a kind piece? Continue to check back for updates on the apartment. Coming soon, holiday decor!
