The 2017 Oscars red carpet looks continued a trend this awards season filled with looks reminiscent of historic fashion alongside new, bold sparkle and shapes. Ruffled necklines and exaggerative full skirts nod to a past era, while cape-like and streamlined silhouettes, drenched in modern glitz, look to the now. I'll take it all, whether influenced by the old or new. My top twelve, best dressed ladies, all looked absolutely fabulous in the purest of white, red, buttery gold, and the forever and always black.
